After the first step . . .

After the first step . . .

BLOG SESSION
January 19th, 2018

Good Afternoon Writers ~ We are here for an important Blog Session that is a follow-up to our last Session, "Beyond the Red Door".

This afternoon, you'll need to grab your Journal so that you may take notes, because we are going to talk about what happens "After the first step . . ."

Journal Notes

In order to really get your mind primed for the true writing experience that is specific to you dear Writer, you'll need to take a moment to sit still.

Right here, right now, just simply take a moment to look at the artistic design that sits right above the words "Journal Notes".  Look at it long enough to make a note of three distinct thoughts that cross your mind as you study the design before you.  Write the three thoughts that come to your consciousness in your Journal.

Pause for reflection and thought

The next thing you'll want to do is make a note of whether or not you found it difficult to manifest the three distinct thoughts in the form of written statements in your Journal.

Why are you making a note of three distinct thoughts that cross your mind as you study the design? . . .

We are taking a few moments today to check in with ourselves to find out just where our heads are at.  How are we thinking?  Are we really thinking at all?  Are we thinking about what we are doing at any given moment, or are we just buzzing through the day?

In order to get "Beyond the Red Door", you have to begin by taking the first step.  As we discussed in our last Blog Session, your first step has to be in the direction of where your story begins ~ starting with -- The title.

Here is the beauty of coming up with your story title ~ you begin to watch the plot appear, then the location and scenes will jump out at you.  And the next thing you know, the characters will come to life.

Understand that visuals are powerful.  Simply by looking at the visual at the top of this Blog Session, you'll develop your own thoughts about that red door.  When you visualize in your mind taking the first step to proceed toward the red door, you'll no doubt notice the depth of the steps.  You'll also make up in your mind how easy it is to get up the steps to the door.  You'll also immediately notice that the door is slightly open. . .

As you visualize in your mind walking beyond the red door, do you see anything there that stands out?  If so, what exactly is that? -- please write it down in your Journal.

Writers, you've already taken your first step in this process, and your story has already begun.

We'll be back, and when we come back please have your Diary and/or Journal with you.  You'll be surprised at what's next!
