Did you read your Journal this morning?

Did you read your Journal this morning?

BLOG SESSION
July 31st, 2017

Good Morning Journalers ~ If you were here for our last Blog Session, then you were able to relax and write what came out of your spirit after your relaxation time last night in your Journal.

Your Decorated Journal

As you looked at your Journal this morning, what did you think of your Writing or Artwork that you created?  If you are surprised by what you created ~ Good!  Journaling should be a daily exercise for you if you are a Writer or an Artist.  Journaling helps to keep your creative juices active and flowing.  You'll find it much easier to write if you continue your Journaling.

For those of you following along, you should never underestimate the power of writing in a Dairy as well.  You can use your Diary for your personal reflections.  Using a Diary will help you to understand your thinking.

Diary Reflections

Do make notes in your Journal today about some of the things you can write about in your Diary . . .

1)  Writing in your Diary is a great way to reflect back on your day and/or vent concerning your frustrations.

2)  If you are not sure of what to write in your Diary, write about your latest ideas.

3)  Write about Projects that you are working on and your progress each day.

4)  Write about the things in your life that you are grateful for.

5)  Write about what is most important in your life in the present moment.

6)  Always be honest and true in your Diary, and use lots of details.

7)  Personalize your Diary entries with artwork, doodles, and side-notes in the margin.

8)  Consider adding objects and artistic items to the cover of your Diary to personalize it.

If you discover that you are benefiting greatly by keeping a personal Diary, you should consider making sure you have a Diary for each year of your life (or every six (6) months of your life).  Diaries are dynamic keepsakes that you'll be grateful for if you keep them over the years.

Do you feel like you are in a Blue Haze?

Do you feel like you are in a Blue Haze?

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

Good Evening Blog Readers, Writers, Followers & Visitors ~ We're back with our Journals!

If you were here for our last Blog Session, then you already know to have your Journal in hand for our Sessions.  Just get your pen out, and get ready to take some good notes in relation to your creativity.

Journal Notes

If you feel like you are in a blue haze, and you are unable to get creative, then this is the Blog Session for you.

First, you have to think back to our last Blog Session where we talked about "Creative Journal Writing", and we discussed using Art as inspiration to create your writings in your Journal.  If you had a chance to take a look at our Artistic Minds® Collection, then you will be able to understand how inspiring Art can be, and just how inspiring Art is.

To write is to pour out the material latent within your soul.  When you actually focus on the pen in your hand, and you freely let your pen flow, then you are allowing your spirit to birth what needs to be born and seen in the light of day.

Once the words begin to flow out, then you can allow what is taking place to happen without your interruption.  Your mind is not needed.  Your soul is working with the aid of your spirit.

When you think too long and too hard about writing, you are getting in the way of the process.  If you must think, then think about relaxing your mind . . .

Relax in Nature

Once you take the time to relax your mind, just know that you are relaxing your body at the same time.  What your mind does directs what your body shall do next.  If your mind is bogged down with lots of items to think about, your body will begin to tense up.  If you keep this up for extended periods of time, then your tension will lead to stress.  We can't let that happen now can we? ~ No.  So, remind yourself to relax.

You know that saying, "Take time to smell the flowers." ~ Let's change that to ~ "Take time to relax your mind."  Relaxation is meaningful, and especially helpful for the flow of your writing.

Just check yourself right now ~ does your body feel tense?  Do your shoulders feel tight?  Do you feel tension in your back?  Are your eyes tired?  Does your face feel tight?  Is the back of your neck tight?  Are your feet throbbing?  Are your legs tense? ~ If so, then you need to r e l a x.

This evening, take a moment to get still and relax.  If you feel like it, light a candle.  If you like incense, light some of that as well.  If you enjoy soft music, then turn your favorite selection on.  If silence is your friend, by all means, get quiet.

Whatever works for you is exactly what you need to do to get your "self" relaxed.

After you feel as if you are relaxed, then turn to your Journal and write.  Write whatever comes out.  Don't think about what you are going to write, just write.

In the morning, and not until morning ~ read what you wrote.

Man reading his Journal

If per chance the Artist in you happens to come out as you turn to your Journal to write, by all means, let the Artist in you come on out and draw!

In Our Next Blog Session:

MORE CREATIVITY!

We'll soon be leaving the month of July ~

See you before it's out!

Creative Journal Writing

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

You'll need to have your Journal to really participate in this Blog Session in a beneficial way.  If you are new to the Blog, then you will need to get a nice Journal to bring to these Blog Sessions so that you may take notes that will help you with your Writings, as well as other areas of life that we explore from time to time.  We discuss Writing Tips, Novel Genres, Writing Resources, and other pertinent issues such as Mental Health Month, Camp NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month,  and other areas of interest to our friends and Readers here.

Create your own Journal Cover

Here is the link once again in case you missed checking it out in our last Blog Session:   Artistic Minds® Collection

If you are a Google+ User, you are welcome and invited to join us in our connected Artistic Minds® Community ~ where you will meet other creative Writers, Artists, and talented beautiful people like yourself.  You can join and share your Artworks, Poetry, Writings, Messages, Photography, and more!

One thing about being creative:  Just the simple act of creating energizes you, inspires you, and uplifts your spirit.

Creative Journal Writing is about doing unique and innovative things that are not typical of most Journal Writers.

Most Journal Writers who are writers of fiction, drama, or poetry, are aware that their Journal Writing builds their writing muscles and helps them to generate ideas.  The Journal can be used as a Laboratory of sorts for the Writer, Author, Novelist, Memoirist, Poet, and Creative Writer.

Song Writers, Film Makers, Playwrights, Designers, Architects, and other creative individuals can find good use for Journals by experimenting with different approaches.  You can use your Journal for the important details of your artistic creation ~ be it writing, design, or otherwise.

If you are in the habit of keeping Journals or Diaries, then you know the importance of these precious tools for the Creative Author as well as Artist.

Diary/Journal

Whenever you need a source of inspiration, you can always look back at one of your Journals from the past to inspire you to create new literary or artistic works.

Diaries help you to notate your thoughts, ideas, activities, and special happenings in your life.  Diaries also help you to smile, because when you go back to read what you have written years later ~ you'll laugh!

See you back here for more ~

Use ART as your source of Inspiration!

Use ART as your source of Inspiration!

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

Good Evening Blog Writers, Readers, Followers & Visitors ~
We are back here for a Session that will inspire you to write your Novels, Memoirs, Poetic Works, Documentaries, Short Stories, and/or Creative Writings.

One source of inspiration is Artwork.  If you are an Artist or a Designer, then you already know how inspiring it is to create an artwork or a design that flows forth out of your spirit.

For all of us who are Writers, there is the same sense of satisfaction when we have created a literary masterpiece, be it a Novel, a short story, a Memoir, a poetic work or a book of poetry, or any other type of Creative Writing.

Taking time to look at Artworks or even taking in the scenery in your day to day travels will help to uplift our spirit.

For those of you who are Google Users, you may like to check out the following link to view beautiful Artworks created by talented and "gifted" individuals (some of whom are Followers of this Blog).  The Artworks that you will find will inspire you! . . .

After looking at a beautiful Artwork, take a moment to simply write from your soul in your Journal . . .

Journal Writing

You'll be amazed at how looking at an Artwork will inspire you to write something amazing.  Be it words of wisdom, poetry, or a short story.  Artwork has the power to move your mind to a place of creativity!

Architectural Designs, Sculptures, Paintings, Watercolors, Drawings, and Acrylic works are all sources of inspiration.

If you know an Artist or a Designer, just watching them at work is a source of inspiration.

If you are a Memoirist or seek to be a Memoirist, (a Writer who writes an autobiography or a written account of one's memory of certain events or people), then you can use photographs and written materials as your source of inspiration.  A Memoir is a historical account or biography written from personal knowledge or special sources.

Poetry comes from the soul, and most Poets write without thinking about what they are going to write.  They simply write what comes out.

All of us know about Famous Poets who have inspired Emerging Poets ~ like Edgar Allan Poe . . .

Edgar Allan Poe
1809 - 1849

Edgar Allan Poe - Poet - Born in 1809, Edgar Allan Poe had a profound impact on American and international literature as an editor, poet, and critic.  Find out more about Edgar Allan Poe by clicking on his name here . . .

FAMOUS LAST WORDS and further background on Edgar Allan Poe . . .

Edgar Allan Poe:  Lord, help my poor soul.

No stranger to the mysterious and macabre, Edgar Allan Poe died amidst peculiar circumstances.  On October 3, 1849, Poe was found semiconscious in Baltimore wandering around in cheap, ill-fitting clothing—so ill-fitting and unusually contrasted against Poe’s usual mode of dress, in fact, that many believed Poe’s own clothes had been stolen.  Poe had left Richmond a week earlier, intending to arrive in Philadelphia; how he arrived in Baltimore was a mystery. Poe was taken to Washington College Hospital, where he spent days in varying states of delirium and unconsciousness until, on his fourth night at the hospital, he started calling loudly for a “Reynolds”—a figure who still remains a mystery.  On the morning of October 7, Poe uttered his last words, “Lord, help my poor soul” and died from what was determined to be “congestion of the brain.” However, no autopsy was performed, and Poe was buried two days later.

What is Inspiration?

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

Use your Journal Daily
Make a note of what inspires you!

Until our next Blog Session, be inspired by noticing the scenery around you, look at beautiful Artworks & Designs, and don't forget to listen to music that lifts your spirits.

Relax with Music

See you in our next Blog Session!

Peace, Love & Light,

René

Writing from a place of c a l m . . .

Writing from a place of  c a l m . . .

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

Good Afternoon Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors, we are here for another fabulous Blog Session.  Today we are going to talk about writing from a place of "c a l m".

When you are writing your short stories, Novels, or other creative writings, you must learn how to write from a place of calm.  In order to do this, you must tune yourself down from the hyper activity of the day.

We have so much going on in our daily lives that we have to make sure that we are in a place of calm when it comes to our writing.  When we write from a place of calm then we will find that our writing flows freely and clearly.

Imagine that you are filled with hundreds of activities from your day ~ telephone conversations, internet activity, emails, work-related tasks, family issues, personal circumstances, and unexpected situations that pop up from time to time -- vehicle issues, home repairs, daily chores ~ doing the lawn, cooking, cleaning, straightening out papers and records, and on and on.  If you were to Journal your daily activities from beginning to end, you would be very surprised at the amount of items that are in your day to day life.

If you do not meditate on a daily basis, you should try doing so.  Stress is a build up of overwhelming activities and issues that are happening to you on a daily basis.

Take time to Meditate Daily

Pressure or tension comes from being in a state of mental or emotional strain.  The tension that many of us feel is a result of having adverse or very demanding circumstances in our life.  We have to learn how to eliminate all things in our life that are demanding of our time or attention and serve no real purpose.

Another way to get into a place within yourself that brings about "calm", is to get ahead of all of your projects and activities, and not let your projects and activities get ahead of you.

Please make a note in your Journals about the medical definition of stress:

Stress: In a medical or biological context stress is a physical, mental, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension.  Stresses can be external (from your environment, psychological, or social situations) or internal (illness, or from a medical procedure).

Take a moment to get your Journal out . . .

Journal Notes

Make a Note of all of the things that are going on in your life that could possibly be sources of stress and tension.  Number the items that come to your mind . . .

1)    Dealing with a relative's illness
2)    Work demands
3)    Co-workers or employees that cause problems
4)    Any medical issues that you have personally
5)    Taking care of pets
6)    Financial demands
7)    Children in school and their activities
8)    Too much noise on a daily basis
9)    Too much talk on a daily basis
10)  Too many meetings; events; and/or activities

Then make a list of what you can do to eliminate some of the items on your list.  For instance, can someone else in the family help with your relative's doctor visits or getting their medicines?  Is there any way to downsize on your work demands?  Are there ways that you can not be closely associated with co-workers or employees that cause problems?  Are you taking good care of yourself, and if not, why not?  Is there anyone else who can help you with the care of your pets?  Are you working on your financial demands with the help of a Financial Planner?  Do you have help with your children and their activities, and if not, can you find help?  Is there a way for you to cut down on your daily in-take of noise and talk in your life?  Is there a way to cut down on the amount of meetings, events, or activities that you currently have going on?

Another way for you to get into a place of "calm" is to listen to calming meditations or music in the privacy of your home or car, or with your head phones.  You can also listen on your lunch breaks at work . . .
