Writer ~ Be the CHANGE you wish to SEE . . .

Writer ~ Be the CHANGE you wish to SEE . . .

BLOG SESSION
January 21st, 2018

Good Afternoon Writers, Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors ~ Today, in this Blog Session, and in the Session tomorrow, we are going to cover two very special areas of interest.  Those areas are:

1)   Diary just for your book writing projects; and

2)   Journals for the Writer, Author, and/or Novelist.

Personal Diary
&
Diary for your Book Writing Projects

In our last Blog Session, we already covered the many topics that you can write about in your Personal Diary.  Just as a review, you can take a moment to re-read our last Blog Session by Clicking here . . .

What your Diary/Journal will tell you

After you have written in your Personal Diary for about a week, if you take a moment or two to read over your daily diary entries for the week, you will discover some very surprising things about yourself.

Most people really have no idea of how their mind is working every day of their life.  Each moment has the potential to manifest an incredible idea, a positive thought, an inspirational vision, and any number of other progressive inventions tailored just for you.

When you write in your personal diary, this is when you are able to download what is on your mind, in your heart, and the stuff that you are carrying around on your back that you have forgotten about.  Those weighty stressor back-packs that we carry cause our necks to tense, our shoulders to feel heavy, and our backs to feel stressed.  Why not unload all of that in your personal diary.  Let your Diary deal with it.

Now, let's move on to our other important area of discussion for today . . .

Diary for your Book Writing Projects
Your Book Writing Diary

The first thing you can do when you open up your Book Writing Diary is write your name.  When I say "name", that means:  1)  Your Real Name; 2)  Your Pen Name; and/or 3)  Your Ghostwriter Name.

Also, make sure that as you begin to write entries in your Book Writing Diary that you understand the meaning of those three names listed above . . .

Your Real Name ~ as given at birth and/or currently, as well as specific designations such as...(i.e., maiden name; married name; hyphenated name; designated educational level ~ Dr., PhD, MA, etc.)

pen name (nom de plume, or literary double) is a pseudonym (or, in some cases, a variant form of a real name) adopted by an author and printed on the title page or by-line of his or her works in place of their "real" name.  A pen name may be used to make the author's name more distinctive, to disguise his or her gender, to distance an author from some or all of his or her previous works, to protect the author from retribution for his or her writings, to combine more than one author into a single author, or for any of a number of reasons related to the marketing or aesthetic presentation of the work.  The author's name may be known only to the publisher, or may come to be common knowledge.

ghostwriter is hired to write literary or journalistic works, speeches or other texts that are officially credited to another person as the Author.  Celebrities, executives, participants in timely news stories, and political leaders often hire ghostwriters to draft or edit autobiographies, memoirs, magazine articles, or other written material.  In music, ghostwriters are often used to write songs, lyrics and instrumental pieces.  Screenplay Authors can also use ghostwriters to either edit or rewrite their scripts to improve them.

Writing in your Book Writing Diary

As you begin your entries in your Book Writing Diary, you'll develop your own way of placing information pertaining to your book inside.  Remember, this Diary is for all of your book writing projects.  If you are just working on one book at this moment, all the better!

However, if you plan on working on more than one book writing project in the next six months, be sure to list them all.  You may be working on a Play, or a Publication, or a Documentary, or a Memoir, or a Biography ~ whatever the case may be, use your Book Writing Diary to keep notes.  You can also name it whatever you like ~ Such as, Playwright Diary; Planned Newspaper Articles; Writing Projects for the month; Short Story Diary; etc.

You'll need to include book titles, working plan, introduction, synopsis, character list, plot, storyboards if you have them, scene details, background location information, research notes, projected completion dates, publisher information, book cover drawings, any illustrations and/or artwork in relation to your book.

There is much more to cover, so do join us back here for our next Blog Session . . .

Time to get up bright and early and . . . get to Writing!

Time to get up bright and early and . . .
get to Writing!

BLOG SESSION
January 9th, 2018

Good Morning Writers, Authors, Poets, and all Creative Writers of various genres ~ We're back here on the Blog to have a wonderful Session that will get you perked up this morning and ready to w r i t e!

The first thing that will get some of us Writers going this morning is ~ you guessed it . . .

A nice hot fresh cup of JAVA!

For other Writers, it is necessary that there be quiet in the morning.  Introspective Writers have difficulty getting up to a lot of noise, chatter, and hustle bustle in the morning.  In fact, many of our writing friends here with us on the Blog will be glad to share their insight with you on the meditation practices that they utilize in the morning.  Our writing friends who meditate and/or take it slow in the morning (like the cat at the top of today's Blog Session) are not on the buzzing bees team, and we should not look for them to be.  Everybody has their own pace, and we should respect that about each of us.

Many of our friends here this morning will also share with you how they make it a habit to first get up and start making a note of what they dreamed about before they have a chance of getting caught up in the movement of the day and lose sight of the vision in their dream.  For many Writers here this morning, a Dream Journal  or a Dream Diary is a necessary tool that is needed by their bedside, and has great value . . .

Dream Diaries are companions to Dreamers
and also serve as an additional bonus to your regular Diary.

Dream Diaries
are a Dreamer's Best Friend

For many Writer's, their dreams are the fuel that ignites the embers that create their Short Stories, Mystery Novels, Journal Writings, Crime Stories, Plays, Lyrics to Songs, and Special Projects.

Dream Journals give you more room to write and add illustrations, drawings, symbols, numbers and other items that accompany your dreams.  Whenever you have a quiet time (and space) to write your Dreams out, you should open up your Dream Journal and write away ~ .  Every little detail that you can recall (including the feelings that went along with the events in your dream) is important to write down.  You'll be grateful that you wrote down all the little details and the bits and pieces of your dreams, because you will more easily recall what happened in your dreams with detailed input recorded in your Dream Journal or Dream Diary (whichever you prefer to use).

Our Session for today is about how to learn to write from the heart.
How to write from the heart

If you have your Journal out, please grab your ink pen and get ready to take notes on today's Session.

The first thing you'll need to remember is that writing from the heart is about being true to yourself.  You'll have to have a good long talk with yourself about what kind of writing you are going to be doing.  Are you going to be writing a fiction novel?  Or would you rather write a Memoir?  Do you want to write a self-help book, a documentary, or a Science Fiction Novel?  Would you prefer to write a Mystery, a detective story or a Crime Novel?  Maybe you prefer to write a book of poetry...

A good way to engage with yourself is to purchase a Diary...

Diary

If you already have a Diary, that is good news.  If you do not yet have a Diary, now is a good time to get one so that you will be ready for the upcoming year.

The benefit of using your Diary on a daily basis is that you will learn a great deal about yourself.  Not only will you be more in touch with the activities that are taking place in your life, you will also be more in touch with your emotions, feelings, hopes & dreams.

Your heart's desires are important.  Learning how to write from the heart is also important.  When you write from your heart, your writing will contain emotion and passion.  Your writing will be moving, whether you are writing a drama, a comedy, a mystery, or a tragic story.  You must feel what you write.  Your writing has to be both engaging and believable.

Your readers should enjoy reading what you write

If you would like to go a step further, it is a good idea to also have a personal Journal dedicated to what the book you wish to write will entail.  You can use your personal Journal to keep track of the notes in relation to your book/novel.  The activity that takes place in your Journal will keep you engaged in the story that is inside of you waiting to be told in book form.  Your personal Journal about your book/novel will help you to keep all of your ideas in relation to your story in one place.  You can work on the Introduction, Synopsis, list of characters, chapter notes, story location notes, scenes, character interactions, background on each character, the plot, conflicts, and any other information specific to the book you intend to write.

Be sure to keep an eye toward making sure that the look of your personal Journal is inviting and inspiring so that you will be more than willing to write in it on a daily basis.  A dull looking Journal will not be motivating, so do get something that will motivate you to pick it up and write in it...

Writing from the heart starts with you ~ your thoughts ~ your feelings ~ your emotions ~ your dreams ~ your passions ~ your hopes ~ your struggles ~ your challenges ~ and your faith.

Your Readers await, so please be sure to join us for our next engaging Blog Session!

"Diary Writer ~ Learn how to trust yourself. ~ PART III ~ Uncover who you are."

~ Diary Writer ~

Learn how to trust in yourself.

PART III

"Uncovering who you are."

BLOG SESSION
September 21st, 2017

Diary Writers ~ We're back to continue our discussion.  Our topic for today is PART III ~ "Diary Writer ~ Learn how to trust yourself. ~ Uncover who you are".

If you have your Journal and/or Diary ready to take notes for today, please pull it out along with your ink pen.
Journal Notes
for
Your Diary

As you can see from the Journal/Diary above, the words are written for you to reflect upon, "Keep calm and carry on."

The first thing that all Diary Writers learn how to do when writing in their Diaries on a daily basis ~ is how to keep calm.

You learn how to keep calm because as you continue to write on a daily basis and later reflect on the words you have written, you'll quickly discover that many of the items, situations or circumstances that you have written about have long since been taken care of or have miraculously dissipated.

When you remember that worry serves no purpose, anxiety solves nothing, nervousness only helps to upset your equilibrium, and most all of the unease that you have ever had has been nothing more than wasted energy, then you understand that the key to really getting things accomplished lies in your ability to keep calm.

Words to place in your Diary

It is when you have learned to keep calm and relax is when you will uncover your true self.  Uncovering your true self is only scary if you are a horrible person with a dark heart.  Surely that is not who you are ~ right?

If you look at the world and all of its horrors and ills, you will find much to be disgusted about.  The evil in our world can only persist when all of the good people decide to stand by, say nothing, and do nothing about it.

In these days that we are living in, it is about morality, character, and integrity.  It is very easy to tell who has it, and who doesn't.  Would you do anything that a five-year-old would be horrified about?  Are you an embarrassment to your children?  Can the youth in your neighborhood look up to you?

In this day and age of transparency ~ which can be a good thing ~ understand that it can also be a bad thing.  No one needs to know every move you make in life on the tweety bird site or the in your face site, and no one cares about your romantic relationship but you and the person you are involved with...or at least, that is the way it should be.  Frankly, no one needs to know all of your personal business ~ people have enough personal business of their own.  Have you ever heard of TMI?

You'll find a lot of narcissistic people in this world, as well as mentally ill individuals who have not quite yet figured out that they have a mental illness.  (One particular person comes to my mind who is in the news every day ~ but I'd rather not think about it)...

But there is help out there, and if you run across people who need help, please try to point them in the right direction.  Whatever you do, don't start acting like them, don't start agreeing with them, and don't make them believe that their behavior is normal or acceptable.  And, I am not making light of mental illness.  It is a serious issue that should concern everyone.  There are people who are on the streets who are mentally ill because they have nowhere to turn, and do not know how to go about getting help.  If you feel that you may have a problem in this area, please seek help for yourself.  Writing in your Diary on a daily basis is therapeutic, and it will help you to uncover a lot about yourself.

On the other hand, just because you feel that you may be going crazy doesn't mean you are.  You may just need a vacation.  And you may just need to remove yourself from people, places and things that make you feel this way.

About Social Media

As a mature adult, the least you can do for yourself and those in your life is to be responsible.  Don't use vulgar and profane language, and do not put lude and improper images online.  And, don't embarrass yourself by doing things that you will live to regret, because you can't take your words and images back once they are out there for the world to see.

If you are not using social media to learn educational and inspirational information, then you should definitely seek to do that.

If you have gifts and talents to share with the world, you may do well with social media by using your gifts and talents to uplift, motivate, inspire, and teach wisdom.  Many people will appreciate you for doing so.

But if you are only using social media in a negative fashion, to make a fool of yourself, to bully others, to put lude, violent or disgusting material out there, then please don't use it. You are too old to display indecent behavior, and you are doing a disservice to the promising generation coming behind you.

Personal Diary

Here's the good news ~ some things are best placed in your personal Diary.  It is the best place for you to learn about yourself and uncover yourself.

Today, in your Diary, write about the many things that are positive about you.  Write about what you like about who you are.  Write about your interests.  White about your aspirations.  Write about the places you'd like to travel to.  Write about how you would like to help others.  Write about the gifts God has given you that you have not brought to the light of day.  Write about what makes you happy.  Write about what makes you smile.  Write about the person in you that you know needs to come forth.

Diary Writer ~ it is all about "you" in your Diary, so...

~ Diary Writer ~ Learn how to trust in yourself. ~ PART II

~ Diary Writer ~

Learn how to trust in yourself.

PART II

BLOG SESSION
September 20th, 2017

Welcome back Blog Readers, Followers, Visitors and Diary Writers ~ Today's Blog Session will be a continuation of where we left off in our last Session.  Our topic is, "Diary Writer ~ Learn how to trust in yourself ~ PART II" . . .

I'd like to start out by saying to everyone following along on the Blog today ~ "You are worthy."

You are worthy of all the best that life has to offer to you.  You are worthy of being treated with respect and dignity.  You are worthy of kindness.  You are worthy of being heard, and having an audience to hear you, no matter whether large or an audience of one.  You are worthy of appreciation and recognition for the great things you bring forth to the world, whether by others or by yourself alone.  You are worthy of not being lied to, devalued, dishonored, disrespected, bullied, or ignored.  And, most importantly, you are worthy of LOVE.

Today's Blog Session is for the purpose of re-emphasizing that you can and will "Learn how to trust in yourself."  In your Journal or Diary, be sure to write this sentence for today's Session...

"I trust in my higher self to know what is best for me."

 "Decalcomania"

Surreal Painting
By Belgian Artist

René Magritte

Many of our Blog Readers and Followers here participate in daily meditation, reflection, Bible Studies, Scripture Readings, and/or higher learning. No matter what religion you follow, (or not), how much education you have, and how much you have studied varies religions or cultures, if you do not understand the nature of human beings and the basic need for compassion, empathy, and mutual respect, you have learned nothing.

"I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking like slaves on the earth."Ecclesiastes 10:7 ~ Amplified Bible

"There is a trail of tears through the land that only the land can truly understand."

Search Yourself Diary Writer

In order to write effectively about what is going on with you, you must first search yourself.  Search deep within the crevices of your being and pull out everything within yourself that you have been holding from yourself.  Diary Writer, you must trust yourself in order to KNOW your "self".  You can not hide what is vital to your growth and freedom of mind.

Reach for your Diary this day . . .

Open the door to understanding

Understanding starts with you.  You cannot possibly understand or comprehend another person if you do not understand or comprehend yourself.  You shouldn't expect anyone to understand you if your mind is fragmented in so many different ways that you have a hard time knowing where to start to fix your own mind and your own life.

Another thing for today ~ Stop jumping to conclusions about things, and learn to SEE things as they are. Make it a point to gain an understanding about a situation, before accusing another person of anything that may be unfounded or that may be nothing more than a huge misconception on your part.

If your view or opinion is incorrect because your view or opinion is based on faulty thinking or a lack of understanding, then whoa to you.  Just stop.

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." ~ Proverbs 4:7 (KJV)
"The beginning of wisdom is:  Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]!  And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation]." ~ Proverbs 4:7 (Amplified Bible)

For today, in your Diary, among other things, take a moment to think about all of your misconceptions and write them down.  Think about how many times you have jumped to conclusions about things that you did not take the time to gain an understanding about.

Include yourself ~ How many times did you jump to conclusions about things concerning yourself without first really understanding your "self"?  You may think that you knew what was best for a certain situation, and then you may have later found out that you were wrong.  Let's try not to do that again.

We'll be back with PART III of our topic, "~Diary Writer ~ Learn how to trust in yourself" . . .
