Good Evening Writers and all literary creatives who have decided to take the leap and participate in Camp NaNoWriMo during the month of April 2018.

If you are a Writer at heart, then you are always ready to write.  We have been discussing working on our Book Projects and the making of our new novels during our camp experience this month.

If you have not yet signed up to participate in campnanowrimo for the month of April 2018, it is not too late.  Just click on the link and sign up!

Sign up to participate in

Signing up for Spring Writer's Camp is the first step -- Camp NaNoWriMo is an offshoot of National Novel Writing Month, where Writers get online and create their new Novels in 30 days.  For Spring Camp, you are not limited in whatever it is you'd like to create during the month of April.  The idea is to simply sign up and create a writing project of your choice ~ and the best part:  You get to  meet other Writers & Authors (including Poets), you'll receive good advice and writing tips, you'll complete a writing project at the end of the month, and it is Free!

Getting into the swing of
writing your Novel!

Getting into the swing of typing up your Novel is fun, its inspiring, and it is well worth your time and effort.  My advice to everyone who is doing this for the first time is to just get on your computer or laptop and just start typing!

After you have filled out your Profile and other information for Camp NaNoWriMo, you can check out all of the other areas of the Camp Site.  Remember to check your mailbox inside Camp NaNo (which is located under the "CONVERSATION" tab).  You'll find good tips inside your mailbox, and interesting updates.

You can also invite a friend to join you at Camp NaNo, and you may also want your friend to be inside the same Cabin with you.

Choose your Cabin Mates
(Sign up to join others or create your own private Cabin)

For all Writers who have not yet created their book cover and are trying to figure out how to go about making one, you'll want to be here for our next Blog Session entitled "Creating your Book Cover".

Until our next Blog Session dear Writers, spend time online getting familiar with the  Camp NaNoWriMo site, and also take segments of time during your day to write your novel and/or  work on your Writing Project.

Remember, NaNoWriMo is also on Facebook as well as Twitter.

More insight about CampNaNoWriMo!

More insight about CampNaNoWriMo!

BLOG SESSION
April 3rd, 2018

Welcome back Authors, Novelists, Journalists, Writers, Poets, emerging authors, Artists, Blog Readers, Followers, Friends & Visitors!

We are here this evening to get back to learning more about CampNaNoWriMo.  Please click on the link if you have not yet visited the Spring Writer's Camp and/or signed up to get started with writing your book or working on your Writing Project during the month of April 2018.

If you were here for our last Blog Session, then you have plenty of notes in your Journal about getting started with writing your book online (for free) in a wonderful Writer's Spring Camp that many of us are familiar with.  Camp NaNoWriMo is the off-spring of NaNoWriMo ~ which stands for "National Novel Writer's Month" -- which takes place every November.

Writers get together online to work on their Novels, Books, Short Stories, Poetry, and Writer's Projects during Camp in the Spring and Summer online.  You're encouraged to check it out if you have always wanted to write a book but may not have quite known how to get inspired to do so.  Just make a note in your Journal that there are plenty of other Writers and established Authors online working on their book projects during Camp NaNoWriMo in both the Spring (April) and Summer (July).  While there are many sites that you can check out if you are a Writer looking for a place to work on your Novel or Writing Project, we're focusing on Camp NaNoWriMo at this time.  We're particularly interested in focusing on Camp NaNoWriMo at this time because the month of April has just begun, and now we can all get started writing for the month of April together with other Writers.

You'll enjoy the Camp -- you can pick your Cabin once you have signed up to participate.  Cabins are Camp NaNoWriMo's version of a writing group.  Up to 20 writers can bunk together in a virtual cabin to create a personal writing community.  Doesn't that sound like fun!?

You can also choose to be part of a Cabin by being sorted into a public cabin, or by creating or being invited into a private cabin.

Learn more about Camp NaNoWriMo Cabins by clicking here...

NOTE:  To join a cabin, make sure you’ve:
1.  Created a Writing Project for the current session of Camp, and
2.  Filled out your Profile.
3.  Then, be sure to set your preferences on the Cabin Settings page...
If you want to be sorted into a cabin randomly, select the “Surprise me with random cabin mates!” option and click “Submit.”
If you want to be sorted into a cabin with writers that share similar interests, select “I’m looking for campers that match specific criteria.”
Then, you’ll be able to request cabin mates within your age group, writing in your genre, and/or with similar word-count goals.  Once you’ve selected all the preferences you’d like, click “Submit”.
Cabin assignments begin shortly before the start of the event, and will continue throughout the month of April on a rolling basis.
There is a lot more to go over in relation to Camp NaNo, so be sure to join us back here for our next Blog Session!
Start taking notes about your Novel

Be sure to leave your thoughts, insight, or any questions in our "Comments Section" at the end of any of our Blog posts.  If you are NEW to working online with your book writing, you may have some questions that you'd like to share here or online in Camp.  Once you sign up, remember you can . . .
  • Complete your writing project in a month
  • Track your progress
  • Get online support
  • The best thing is ~ It is Free to participants!
  • Also, it is 100% fun ~ and worth checking out (smiles)
See you in our next Blog Session, and/or over in Camp NaNoWriMo!

We Writers are getting ready to participate in the wonderful place for Writers who are focused on their book writing, Memoirs, Biographies, poetry, and other Writing Projects.  The place that I am referring to is online, and it is called Camp NaNoWriMo.

For those of you who are really ready to get into your writing now that Spring is here, Camp NaNoWriMo is the place for you!

Springtime, (during the month of April 2018), we Writers will be busy cranking out our next interesting Novel.  What about you?  Will you be participating at Camp NaNoWriMo in the virtual world?  If you plan to write your first book, your next book, or work on a Writing Project, the month of April is a good time for you to get online and get busy creating your next masterpiece.  All you have to do if you have never participated before at Camp NaNo is to click on the link and sign up!  It is free, and it is FUN!

For those of you who have participated during the month of November in previous years ~  (November is National Novel Writing Month) online at:   NaNoWriMo.org ~ you will have an idea of what writing a Novel in 30 days is all about.  During Camp online at Campnanowrimo.org, we'll be doing the same thing we do during the month of November.  At Camp, you have the freedom to write whatsoever you desire, and it doesn't have to be a Novel.  You can write a poetry book, a Memoir, a Biography, a Research Project, or any other Writing Project that you are interested in creating.

There is a lot to talk about when it comes to Camp NaNo, so before we really get into more details, just click on the link and sign up . . .

Please grab your Journal so that you may take great notes about the Extrovert personality trait.

Journal Notes

If you believe you have an extrovert personality, then you'll love the information to follow because it will ring true with you!

First off, here are a few questions for those readers who believe you are an extrovert:

Do you really enjoy meeting new people?

When you are at a social event, do you find yourself feeling energized and more alive?

Well, most extroverts will answer yes to those two questions.  We've discussed the introvert personality trait in our previous Session, and we've also gone over a few differences between the introvert and the extrovert personalities.

Important Note:  What Exactly Is an Extrovert?
On the positive side, extroverts are often described as talkative, sociable, action-oriented, enthusiastic, friendly, and out-going.  On the negative side, they are sometimes described as attention-seeking, easily distracted, and unable to spend time alone.

For your Journal notes, please add in that there is a five-factor model of personality traits.  According to this model, personality is made up of five broad dimensions.  Each dimension, including extroversion/introversion, exists on a continuum.  While some people may tend to be at the extreme end of either side of the continuum, most people are somewhere in the middle.

You may find the following link interesting from Gurl.com . . .

This was shared in 2014, and written by Caitlin Corsetti.

Caitlin talks about how extroverts tend to identify with the following...

1.  Jump into Leadership Roles;
2.  Being alone zaps the extrovert's energy;
3.  Being put into groups energizes the extrovert ~ like having a jolt of caffeine;
4.  Extroverts crave social settings;
5.  Extroverts like to take charge;
6.  Extroverts love to talk; and
7.  Sometimes the energy of extroverts can be overwhelming!

Extrovert Man
(Overwhelming personality)

You may want to make a note in your Journal about "extraversion" . . .

Extraversion

Extroverted Woman

Extraversion is characterized by excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and high amounts of emotional expressiveness.  People who are high in extraversion are outgoing and tend to gain energy in social situations.

Introverted Personality

You'll notice that people who are low in extraversion (or who have an introverted personality) tend to be more reserved and have to expend energy in social settings.  Introverted personality types love solitude in peaceful settings like by bodies of water.

Please make a note in your Journal that people who are high on extraversion tend to . . .
  • Enjoy being the center of attention
  • Like to start conversations
  • Enjoy meeting new people
  • Have a wide social circle of friends and acquaintances
  • Find it easy to make new friends
  • Feel energized when they are around other people
  • Say things before they think about them
Do any of the above statements sound like you?

Be sure to leave your thoughts, comments, input, and any questions in our "Comments Section" at the bottom of our Blog.  We'd love to hear what you have to share!

This will conclude our Blog Sessions on The Writer's Comfort Levels.  We hope you have enjoyed this particular area of interest.

We'll see you next time!
