Once the elevator door opened, they looked out before they stepped out, to discover that they were now on the roof of the house. Except, Sheila was thinking, there was no flat roof on her house. 1010 HouseCapade Blvd had a Spanish tiled roof, not a flat roof complete with Olympic sized swimming pool and deck chairs all around it. Quinton also noticed a bar with about ten bar stools. When they looked up, the sky was without cloud or hint of grey. It was bright blue, and exotic birds were flying around chirping, squealing, and squawking. But, they both had the same funny feeling in their bellies at the same exact moment...
“Where in the hell are
we? It has to be close to 11:00 pm, and it cannot be bright blue and sunny
outside,” Quinton told Sheila.
Sheila gripped
Quinton's hand even tighter, as they both took their heads and, like turtles, pulled them
back into the elevator that they had never stepped out of this time.
Quinton looked to see
what button there was to push this time. Sheila's eyes went in the same direction
as Quinton's gaze. They both saw the same button, with the same word, “Marry.”
"Oh, God!" Sheila said aloud. "What in the world is going on?"
Quinton's
mind went to work on putting the phrase together of all of the elevator buttons
thus far – “Well, first we pushed no buttons at all, and ended up on the floor
with only the
bedroom, then we've had, 'Will' – 'FOYER' – 'YOU' – 'Marry' – so I suppose, the next
button after this should be 'Me.’ Don't you think Sheila?” Quinton was smiling
as he looked
into Sheila's eyes.
“We shall
soon see right after we see where 'Marry' leads us to Quinton.”
Quinton
looked back at Sheila just before pushing the button that said, “Marry.” The elevator
began to move once again, and this time, it felt as if they were going, UP!
