Please get your Journal and pen ready to take notes...

Journal Notes

Blog Readers, if you were here for our last Blog Session, then you should already have notes written about some of the qualities and attributes of a Good Leader.  We also went over the (must have) qualities & traits of a good Leader.  Just as a Review, please make sure you have the following items written in your Journal:

1)  Leadership is a trait that has to be earned on a daily basis.

2)  It is important that Leaders learn from the very best in the field concerning any particular item in a time of need for the people the leader serves.

3)  Good leaders must be able to get along with people.

4)  The best Leaders are those who are selected by the people from the people and for the people.

5)  Good leaders are respected, concordant’ and ‘approachable’ in order to facilitate an environment of growth and intellect.

6)  The most effective leaders in the world seldom use the word ‘I’, they say we.

7)   The best leaders always think in terms of a team and believe in ‘team work’.

8)  True leaders accept the challenges and work towards making all team effort efficient.

9)  A true Leader creates trust.

10)  A true Leader does not create divisiveness, fractions, distractions that lead attention away from major issues that affect the protection and important basic needs of the people as a whole, and/or does not engage in questionable practices.

Learning about Leadership

Great Leaders inspire people to grow.

Bad Leaders don't care about people's growth.

Great Leaders put people in the best possible positions hence engaging great performance.

Bad Leaders exploit people to make themselves benefit the most.

Great Leaders are positive and always encourage others.

Bad Leaders are negative and always blame team members.

Great Leaders know when to delegate.

Bad Leaders always micromanage.

Great Leaders are open to novel ideas and new and innovative things.

Bad Leaders hate changes and do not take risks.

Recognizing a Bad Leader

It is important to understand what bad leadership is; how it happens; and why it matters.

In general, people do not expect to be led off a cliff due to the ignorance of a bad leader who is not deserving of the position and/or title that they carry.

Leaders should always be held accountable by the people that they serve.

Recognizing a Bad Leader

Bad Leaders tend to place themselves on a pedestal at the expense of others.  Treading on others to their detriment is a prime example of a leader who has a self-serving and "bully" mentality.

Pay attention to who the leader who serves your community, region or country aligns themself with.  What causes do they back or support?  Does the leadership that serves you serve your concerns?  Are the leaders in your area open and willing to hear the people they serve?

What are the main issues and concerns that the leader or leaders in your community or country focus on?  What causes, organizations, associations, laws, or vital community concerns do the leaders in your area,  community, region, or country align themselves with?

Take a good long look at the administration, staff, and team that your leader has around him or her.  Are they qualified for the positions that they hold?  Do they have good attitudes? . . .

Bad Leadership in action.

If you are witnessing a line-up of staff being fired, quitting, leaving, or disgruntled, there is probably a problem that needs to be addressed concerning the leader in charge.

In our next Blog Session, we are going to take a look at some of the major issues and concerns going on now around the world, and the Leaders in charge.

Bible Scripture for Today:  Woe to Oppressors
Woe (judgment is coming) to those who
devise wickedness
And plot evil on their beds!
When morning comes, they practice evil
Because it is in the power of their hands.
Micah 2:1 ~ Amplified Bible (AMP)

As we take a good look around the world, we will find Leaders of many different backgrounds and cultures. While many of the Leaders who are in position at this time in history are worthy of their positions, there are many who are NOT.

Depending on where you live on this breath~taking planet of ours, will determine what type of Leadership resides in your territory, and what type of Leader that you are dealing with.

We will be discussing the signs of a "Dangerous Leader".  But, before we do that, please grab your Journal for our Blog Session for today, because the first thing we are going to do is jot down some of the qualities and attributes of a Good Leader...

When the dam breaks , , ,

When the dam breaks . . .
(Guajataca Dam in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico on Sept. 23, 2017)

BLOG SESSION
September 23rd, 2017

Welcome back to another eye~opening day on the Blog!

Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors, today's Blog Session is going to be the beginning of a number of discussions that we will be having about what's going on in your part of the world.

We're going to be starting off with an island that has just been through a storm of disastrous proportions. The island is called, Puerto Rico.  The storm that we are referring to is Hurricane Maria, which has racked up millions of dollars worth of damage and the count is not yet complete for the total amount of financial relief that will be needed for damages wrought by Hurricane Maria.

Our Blog topic is entitled, "When the dam breaks..."  Let it be known that currently in Puerto Rico, there are serious issues going on...

Puerto Rican officials rushed to evacuate tens of thousands of people downstream of the failing dam and the massive scale of the disaster wrought by Hurricane Maria started to become clear.

In spite of the fact that Puerto Rico is now largely without electricity, running water is a luxury, and mobile phone reception is no longer taken for granted, the demand for plane tickets is high.

San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marin airport is struggling. Most flights this weekend were cancelled, even though the weather was safe again.  At least one flight had to turn back because it lost communication with the airport control tower.

The mayor, Marcos Cruz Molina, said between 2,000 and 2,500 people, including himself, lost their homes. Like most of the island, Vega Baja is almost completely without communication.

Governor Ricardo Rossello reported on Sunday that officials still had not had communication with nine of 78 municipalities.

Puerto Ricans have used the Zello Walkie Talkie app to find information on missing people, through channels specific to municipalities.  Nieves told the Vega Baja channel he would report back with as much information as possible.

Compare what is happening in your part of the world with what you've just heard about Puerto Rico.  Are you fairing the same, worse, or better?

in Toa Alta, west of San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sunday.

“The devastation in Puerto Rico has set us back nearly 20 to 30 years,” Jenniffer Gonzalez, Puerto Rico’s nonvoting representative in the US Congress told the Associated Press.
Puerto Rico is different from that of a week ago.  There is currently destruction of properties, flattened structures, families without homes, and there is debris everywhere.
This is why people are also trying desperately to leave. On Sunday morning, dozens sat waiting in the airport, which does not have functioning escalators, elevators or air conditioning.  Many waved paper or cardboard, trying to stay cool.  By Sunday night, the only scheduled flight out had been cancelled.  Only aid flights had departed.  Hundreds of people camped out, desperate for a flight out.
