Empath or Clairsentient

Good Evening Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors!

We'be back from our coffee break with more information for everyone who has been following along with our discussion on Empaths and Intuitive Empaths.  In our last Blog Session, we touched upon Clairempathy.

Now, for those of you who believe you are an Empath or could have empathic abilities, we're going to turn our attention to the question of whether or not your empathic abilities could really be Clairsentience?

Whoa, what is this you say? ~ It is a topic that is more fuel for your Empath Journal.  So, pull out your Journal, and get ready to write . . .

Lets talk about the definitions of an Empath and a Clairsentient...

Empath:  the ability to feel or sense what others are feeling and take on that emotion in your own body.
Clairsentient:  the ability to sense what others are feeling, take that emotion in your own body, and receive instinctual information about the event or situation.
The definitions of both sound close, but there is one slight difference -- the Clairsentient can "receive instinctual information about the event or situation."
For many years, those with empathic abilities were simply called “overly sensitive” and were shunned or told to “suck it up” when they would feel things deeply.  But today it is a different story.  Less people are stuck inside a box in their mind, body & spirit because of what others have taught them or said to them to make them close up, and they have become more aware.  Ignorance is not always bliss.  And, being selfish and self-centered is one way to make sure that you never grow spiritually, and what's worse, you never learn anything new.
Now, the idea of empathic people is becoming more highlighted in our consciousness as a society, and a lot of people have been able to identify with the definition.
Empaths have the ability to feel what others are feeling and are sensitive in crowded spaces or when around large groups of people.  Empaths are also likely to cry when other people cry and feel other people’s joy and pain.  Empaths can also take these emotions into their own body and feel physical symptoms like headaches, nausea and anxiety.
So that you may get a sense of what we are talking about here, just think about this ~ when we are are very close and connected with someone, like those in our family, our friends, or close associates, it is likely that we can also feel very sensitive to their emotions.  However Empaths have the ability to do this with all people regardless of their connection with the person.  Therefore, This can become very overwhelming if not contained and can lead to anxiety, depression and feeling drained.
Most empaths are clairsentient as well, however they just may not know it.
The gift of Clairsentience is more psychic or intuitive in nature.  Clairsentient people can feel what other people are feeling and take those feelings into their own body, however they can also receive information about the emotion and why it is there.  Those in the Ministry may identify with what is being said here.
This information is more of a “feeling” that helps to provide insight around the emotion.  The feeling is often very intuitive and helps the person to know whether they should trust the situation or the person.
Those with the gift of Clairsentience have very, very heightened senses and may also be able to detect energy within a space or person.
If Spirits are present, those with Clairsentient abilities would be able to pick up on the feelings of that Spirit.  If a certain energy is present, such as an emotional energy in a space, object or person, the Clairsentient will also be able to detect this.  Like walking into a room, and feeling the negative vibration of the people within the room.  Or the energy from the crowd that left the room.  It is no different than going into a home, and suddenly feeling ill because the people within are sick.  Negative as well as positive vibrations can be felt.
In fact, if you are able to detect “energy” in a space, even when no one is around, or detect energy from a person even when they are not displaying emotions, it is most likely that you are clairsentient and not just empathic.

Clairsentient definition

The psychic ability of clairsentience literally means clear sensing.  Today the definition of clairsentience means the broad gift of being able to sense psychic information.
For your Journals, there are a host of psychic abilities, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Clairsentience – The ability to acquire psychic knowledge by feeling.
  • Clairaudience – The ability to acquire information by paranormal auditory means.
  • Claircognizance – The ability to acquire psychic knowledge by means of intrinsic knowledge.
  • Clairvoyance – The ability to perceive person, object, location, and physical events through extrasensory perception.
  • Faith healing – The ability to diagnose or cure diseases using religious devotion.
  • Intuition – The ability to acquire knowledge without proof, evidence, or conscious reasoning, or without understanding how the knowledge was acquired, but instead having direct access to unconscious knowledge, unconscious cognition, inner sensing, inner insight to unconscious pattern-recognition and the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.
  • Prophesy – The ability to predict what will happen in the future.
  • Retrocognition or postcognition – The ability to perceive past events.
  • Precognition or premonition – The ability to perceive future events.
  • Remote viewingtelesthesia or remote sensing – The ability to see a distant and unseen target using extrasensory perception.
  • Telepathy – The ability to transfer thoughts mentally through extrasensory perception.
  • Aura reading – The ability to perceive energy fields surrounding people, places and things.
  • Second sight – The ability to see future and past events or to perceive information that is not present to the senses, in the form of a vision (precognition or remote viewing).
  • Energy medicine – The ability to heal with one's own empathic astral energy.
  • Eidetic memory or photographic memory – The ability to vividly recall images from memory after only a few instances of exposure, with high precision for a brief time after exposure, without using a mnemonic device.
  • Apportation – The ability to undergo materialization, disappearance or teleportation of an object.
  • Astral projection or mental projection – The ability to project voluntarily the astral (emotional body), being with associated with out-of-body experience, in which an astral body becomes separate from the physical body.
  • THERE ARE MORE AREAS THAT ARE NOT LISTED - The areas listed above in larger type are more in line with the topic of today's Blog Session.

We've covered a great deal of information thus far, and there is a lot more to go, so do pop back in with your Journals in hand for our next exciting Blog Session!

The Healing Empath

Good Evening Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors ~
We've been discussing Empaths, Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and Healers.  Tonight we are going to talk about Intuitive Empaths, and in particular those Empaths that have dealt with Narcissistic individuals.

A little about Intuitive Empaths ~ a person who has an unusual capacity for sensing and understanding the feelings of others.  Could you be one?

Intuitive empaths know what others feel without needing to be told, and they have an unusually sharp sense for whether someone is being truthful or lying.

For this reason, many self-proclaimed intuitive empaths go into the healing professions.  There’s a lot of reported evidence from psychologists for the existence of empaths, and it often seems to suggest that they are unhappier than others.

Empathy is present, in general, to a greater degree in women. A study from the journal of Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews stated that there are gender differences with regard to empathic response from infancy.  It has been suggested that females are more empathic as a result of neurological adaptation to the traditional role of child-rearing, as it requires a sharper understanding of non-verbal expressions.

With the information above kept in mind, imagine an Empath dealing with a Narcissist.  It would immediately strike you as odd, as well as a toxic mix.

One Empath tells the story of being involved with a Narcissist.  The Empath came to the conclusion that Narcissists are special people.  Although Narcissists are very focused on how great they are, the Empath realized that Narcissists are actually profoundly wounded.  The Empath also came to the conclusion that something in childhood (in most cases) got to them.  Something unraveled them.  That something also damaged them.  And, because of the wounds, the Narcissists now seek validation.

Here are the words of an Empath that dealt with a Narcissist:
"But here I am.  I'm an empath.  I'm a healer.  I absorb what other people are feeling, and feel it as if it were my own.  My own pain, my own anguish, my own hurt.  Narcissists rarely know an empath's boundaries.  It makes us easy to bond with.  We eat their pain like breakfast lunch and dinner." ~ The anonymous empath

Intuitive Empath

Let us turn our attention fully to the Intuitive Empath ~ What are the traits of an Intuitive Empath?

1.  You understand where other people are coming from

When empaths are in interactions with others, they’re able to understand how the other person feels and why they feel it.  This makes them excellent listeners and great friends. However, being able to put themselves in other people’s shoes and feel as they feel can be extremely stressful.  Apart from having to deal with the stress and difficulties which arise in their own lives, they take on other people’s suffering as their own.

2.  You are oversensitive

If you are extremely sensitive or have been labelled as being too emotional, you may be an empath.  Empaths seem to have the ability to experience emotions at a greater intensity than the rest of us.  This can lead to increased joy and pleasure in life, but when they’re exposed to negative stimuli, it can cause extreme anxiety and distress.  It also means that they’re more prone to mood swings than others, as stimuli from the environment can change rapidly from positive to negative.  Empaths are often very sensitive to noise and other disturbances, too.

3. You can’t stand witnessing the suffering of others

At one extreme of the empathy spectrum (the low end), there are people with disorders which cause anti-social and often violent, criminal behaviour.  Empathic people are on the opposite end of the spectrum, not being able, in some cases, even to watch violent films.  They also find things that many people laugh at, like the misfortunes of others, unbearable to witness.

4.  You aren’t comfortable in large groups

Because of the intensity and diversity of stimuli in situations involving a large number of people, empaths tend to find being around big groups exhausting and anxiety-creating.  It is common for empaths to prefer being alone or with one or two people.  If they have to be in social situations involving large groups, it is often necessary for them to withdraw early and take time alone to recharge their batteries.

5.  You have physical symptoms after emotionally intense situations

Empaths often find that they experience physical symptoms in response to high-intensity situations.  Headaches are common as well as fatigue.  Empaths may also be more likely to respond to the anxiety they feel by abusing their own bodies with drugs and overeating.
Journal Notes
For your Journal, please make a note of anything that you have found to be helpful.  You may also want to add the following information . . .
Empathy is something that nearly all human beings have, with the exception of people who have psychological disorders that prevent them from feeling empathy.  Empathy is, therefore, something which is found in human beings on a spectrum –  from high-empathy responses to low-empathy responses.
Scientists do not currently accept the use of terms such as intuitive empath just as they don’t accept terms like ‘psychic’ or ESP (Extra-Sensory Perception).  Scientific research currently divides empathy into the categories of emotional empathy’ and ‘cognitive empathy’. Emotional empathy is the ability to respond emotionally to what another person is going through, and cognitive empathy is the ability to comprehend another person’s perspective or mental state.
Until next Blog Session
