Evening Edition

Good Evening Emerging Novelists of 2017 ~ we are really getting into the groove of this Novel writing business online.  As you can see from the image at the top of tonight's Blog Session, I'm a little busy just like the cat with the typing paws.

For this evening, I'm going to share a nice link that you can take a look at during your Novel Writing break while in the middle of finishing up your Novel or writing project on NaNoWriMo...

Pro Tips from a NaNo Coach: Figuring Out How to Finish

When you click on the above link, you'll be able to read Author and NaNo Coach K. Ancrum's tailored advice for wherever you may find yourself at this moment in your writing journey.

At the present time, my word count is 44,254 words.  I'm going to continue typing, and adding to my Novel this evening.  I expect to definitely get to 50,000 words or beyond by sometime tomorrow if not before.

This month's adventure that we have all been having has been an eye~opening experience.  Many of us have found our passion for writing once again.  Others of us have discovered that we can write more words than we thought we could in a given amount of time.

Many of us are working diligently on our Novels and/or writing projects this evening so that we may complete our National Novel Writing Month in style with a cool congratulations to ourselves for all of our hard work.

While many of us used to type to keep our typing speed up, now we type to accomplish a completed Novel!

Get those photos ready for your Author/Novelist shot!

~ Best wishes Novel Writer! ~

See you on the Blog tomorrow...

FINISH LINE AHEAD!

November 30th, 2017
50,000 words!

BLOG SESSION
November 28th, 2017

Good Morning Blog Readers, Writers, Novelists, and Visitors ~ This is going to be a beautiful day!

We're heading towards the finish line of our Novel writing on NaNoWriMo.  As you begin to look over your Novels and do bits of editing where needed, you'll also be inputting any additional chapters to your Novel in the next couple of days.  We have two more days to go (not including today) ~ what an adventure this has been, and we're not done yet!

If you had a chance to look over the material and information in the Forums online at NaNoWriMo, you probably learned a lot more than you thought you would.  In our last Blog Session, we spoke briefly about Book Covers.  In one of the Forums, there is information about "30 covers, 30 days".  If you are signed up on NaNoWriMo, you'll be able to check out all of the Forum topics, and this is one you should take a look at.

You should also check out the Forum on "Site & Message Board Feedback & Suggestions".  On this Forum, you can share your comments and ideas for the nanowrimo.org site and NaNo forums so that improvements can continue to be made.

If you are new to all this NaNoWriMo business, which is a great insightful way to work online with other Writers like yourself, it is just fine, because we all have to learn about NaNoWriMo at one point or another if we are Writers.  National Novel Writing Month ~ which is what NaNoWriMo stands for is an event that happens every year during the month of November.

If this is your first year participating, please don't make it your last.  Keep your writing going all year long by writing on your own, and also telling others about NaNoWriMo.  Some of the Writers here on the Blog have met other writers while doing NaNoWriMo.  There are Virtual Write-Ins, and also Regional connections to be made for all Writers who are interested.

For all the "Newbies" to NaNoWriMo, there is a Forum specifically for you where you can introduce yourself and your project.  You'll find this to be a gentle way to start your NaNoWriMo experience.

The overachievers who go beyond the 50,000 word mark can talk online in the Forum, "Beyond 50k".  This Forum is the home for all of the overachievers.

There is no need to stop at the 50k mark if your writing is flowing better than you expected.  If this is the case for you, you may want to check out the Forum, "This is Going Better Than I'd Hoped".

For those of you who are in College, you may want to check out the Forum, "NaNo University", which is for those of you who are facing the challenges of College life while being an active Novelist.  On this Forum you can find tips and tricks for surviving lectures while meeting your word count.
Wearing the Novelist cap has its advantages

If you have had a life-long dream of writing a Novel, just do it!  You'll surprise yourself with what you come up with.  When you read your Novel over, you will wonder where all of the good stuff that Novels are made of came from...well from YOU of course!

If you have it in you to write, you will not rest until you complete your mission.  We'll be back here on the Blog for another great Session ~ we'll be waiting here for you Novelist.

Novelist at work in a inspiring environment...

Novelist at work in a inspiring environment...

BLOG SESSION
November 25th, 2017

Novelists, I'm hoping that as you are finishing up the last chapters of your Novel that you are taking time to relax a bit in between running to your computer to click those keys!

It is always best to have a relaxed mind when you are working on your writing.  If you place yourself in a noisy environment to do your writing, you are adding extra pressure that you don't need -- that is of course if you are not one of those Writers that has to have a lot of activity and noise around you to get yourself worked up into a frenzy of writing which somehow gets you flowing better.  I smile at that as I think about the frustration that that would cause some of us.

The other thing that I'd like to mention tonight is that you should not get frustrated if your computer acts crazy and does odd things right in the middle of your best writing....

Frustrated Writer

If the above scene happens to you, just log off, take a break, then come back and restart your computer.  And, definitely be sure to save your chapters in your word processing program.  It is good of course to have your chapters written, but you must also type them out, and when you do, be sure to have a back-up copy.

I might also mention that in the excitement of writing, some Writers just get way too stressed and cause a mess~up environment to happen around them.  There is no use getting your environment all out of whack, and stressing out your computer with your crazy vibrational activity.  Just calm down, and take it easy . . .

Take a moment to go by the water to calm down if you need to.  Breathe ~ inhale, then exhale.  If you don't have any body of water around you that you can run to, then just sit still and focus on something calming before you head back to your keyboard...

Focus on a calming object dear Novelist

For those Novelists who are here with us this evening, if you need a little inspiration on one of your breaks between writing your Novel, take a moment to check out the NaNoWriMo Forums.  (Just click on the link to get there).

Once you have entered the page with all of the great Forums available to you, you will find Official Stuff like . . .

How many words have you written so far?

BLOG SESSION
November 24th, 2017

Good Evening Novelists, Authors, Writers, Poets, Journalists, Short-Story Writers, Film Writers, Playwrights, and all Creative Writers ~

If you are thinking about writing a Novel then you are in the right place!  We are all Writers that have a Novel inside of us.  Our Novels are specific to our specific dream.  Some of us are interested in writing a Science Fiction Novel, others of us would like to write a Romance Novel, and there are those of us who are interested in tackling the Historical Fiction genre.

Whatever you dream of writing, keep daring to dream, and then get your fingers in gear to start typing away!

For those of us who are on NaNoWriMo.org inputting our Novel Chapters, we are here today to share how many words we have written so far.  You can share how many words you've written in the "Comments Section" at the end of this Blog Session.  I'm still working on my Novel, and will add my word count before the 30th!

Novelist at work at writing 50,000 words!

Novelist at work at writing 50,000 words!

BLOG SESSION
November 4th, 2017

Good Afternoon Novelists ~ It is Saturday, November 4th, 2017 and we are all working on our fantastic Novels this month.  As you all know, this is National Novel Writing Month, and we are excited about getting another Novel written this year.

We have been discussing the various literary genres that we are all choosing from in terms of the selection of the subject matter and area our Novel will be based on.  Many Writers head for the area of Fiction, but there are so many other areas that we have to choose from.  Check out our previous Blog Sessions to see a few of the genres we have covered already...

BLOG SESSIONS: (click on links to view)...

Also, we discussed participating online in NaNoWriMo in our previous Blog Session entitled . . .

When it comes to the Genre you choose, whatever your genre, be it Fiction, Fantasy, Chick Lit, Epic, Tragedy, Comedy, Creative Non-Fiction, Drama, Horror Fiction, Literary Realism, Romance, Tragic Comedy, Mythology, Classic, Legend, Folklore, Crime/Detective, Fable, Fairy Tale, Fan Fiction, Fiction Narrative, Historical Fiction, Horror, Humor, Legend, Magical Realism, Meta Fiction, Mystery, Mythology, Mythopoeia, Picture Book, Realistic Fiction, Science Fiction, Short Story, Suspense/Thriller, Tall Tale, Western, Biography, Autobiography, Essay, Owner's Manual, Journalism, Lab Report, Memoir, Narrative Non-Fiction, Personal Narrative, Reference Book, Self-Help Book, Speech, Textbook, Instruction Manual, Adventure Novel, Imaginary Voyage, Political Fiction, Political Thriller, Pulp Fiction, Religious Fiction, Contemporary Christian Fiction, Islamic Fiction, Jewish Fiction, Saga, Family Saga, Paranormal, Alien Adventure, Mythic, Urban Fantasy, Supernatural, Didactic,  Commentary, Diary, Journal, Manuscript, Poetry, Religious Text, Prophecy, Revelation, Biblical Theology, or a Scientific Writing . . . remember, the possibilities are endless!

Be sure to do your research online relative to the Genre that you are choosing for your Novel.  You'll be sure to gravitate to a certain genre once you have an idea of what your Novel will be about, or once you start typing or writing away in your Journal.  In addition, further research about the genre you are choosing will open your eyes further to what types of Novels are already published in your genre area.

Take time to look around online at the Books that are written and published in your Genre area.  Also, check out the Book Stores and spend a few hours browsing around in the various genre areas . . .

Your Novel is sure to be a joy to write.  As you work on writing your Novel online, keep an idea in your head as to how your Novel Cover will look.

Last year, I had thought about the Novel Cover for the novel I am working on this month, entitled, "HouseCapades".  I had written a short story about "HouseCapades" that was published and included in an Anthology entitled, "Twisted Shorties II", written by Pam Brittain, Compiler, A.F. Stewart, Author, and many other Authors and Poets from our late Gather Community (now off line), and I decided I'd write a Novel with the same title this year for National Novel Writing Month on  NaNoWriMo...

Luckily for me, a friend who has an awesome artistic talent was kind enough to offer her skill with designing the Novel Cover for HouseCapades long ago, which I am currently working on...

Isn't Francine Langlois an awesome Artist!?  I'm so impressed every time I look at any artwork that she creates!

I'll ask her if I can share her link with everyone here.

See you in our next Blog Session dear Novelists!
