Inspiration

BLOG SESSION
January 16th, 2018

Good Morning Writers, Authors, Journalists, Poets, Artists, Photographers, Short Story Writers, Designers, Animators, and all Creative friends who have joined us for our exciting Blog Sessions!

When it comes to writing, we all know that no matter what job you may have, what profession you are in, or what career path you may take ~ you will always have to write.

Writing is necessary

Writing is a necessary part of life.  Even when you may not feel like writing, you will have to fill out a form from time to time, write out your name from time to time, write a short note or letter from time to time, and possibly sign a document every now and then.

For those of us who seek to be Writers, Authors, Novelists, Journalists, Poets of Note, and those friends here with us today who happen to write for a living ~ there is something that we may need to reach for from time to time to keep our writings on track, and there is also a type of life we may seek to lead in order to hear what we need to hear, so that we may write what we need to write, and that is...

Leading a life of quiet inspiration is where you will find the jewels needed to write in your very own way, and in your very own style.  Becoming quiet is the first step toward  entering into the place of "inspiration".

As we close out today's Blog Session, take a moment to get your Diary or Journal out to write notes about the things that "inspire" you to write...

What Inspires you to write?

Make a note in your Diary

The year 2017 . . .

Praying Hands

Good Afternoon Poets, Poetry Lovers, Writers, Authors, Artists, Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors ~ It is that time of the year when everyone is reflecting on the 2017 year ~ what can be made better, forgiven, forgotten, and/or used as a stepping stone.  While some people never take the time to reflect on their lives at the end of each year, many of us do, and many of us do so on a more regular basis.  How about you?  How do you feel your 2017 year went?  Do you have hope for the future?  Are you motivated to move forward or do you have some reservations about what is to come?

Looking toward the future . . .

There are many writers who are very familiar with prayer and Devotionals.  Being in tune with your spirit and the world you live in is vital to opening up your level of awareness.  Clearing out all that is harmful and toxic is something that we should look forward to doing at this time of the year.

Our future rests in the hands of the adults who have wisdom and knowledge and who make it a point to guide our youth -- not only by speaking with them, teaching them, and guiding them, but also by being a walking and living example for them.

Believe it or not, many children pray . ..

Hope begins with a prayer

Children's prayers are powerful

Learning at an early age
about the power of Prayer

Children know more about
the spiritual world than many
people give them credit for

Every day we have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those we come in contact with.  Our egos should never stand in the way of progress.  There is always someone who knows more than we do, feels deeper than we do, and has experienced deeper hurts or struggles than we have.  Writing is therapeutic, and that is why as a poet, author, writer, filmmaker, song writer, playwright, producer, director, artist, innovator, or any human being living and breathing on this earth ~ you can make a huge difference in this world.

As a child, it is good if you have been taught that you do not always have to be right.  Nor do you always have to speak over everyone else around you.  There is a tone that is hurtful, and there is a tone that is healing.  It matters if you seek to harm others or if you seek to help others.  It is important if you have the mind-frame of a friend or if you have the mind-frame of a foe.

As a Leader, you know that it not all about "you" ~ but about others ~ and many more people than your selfish "self".  Wouldn't it be an unpleasant experience to have a community leader that only seeks to serve their own interest?  Wouldn't it be rather devastating to have a person over your city who cares only about filling their own pockets and the pockets of their friends?  We dare not hope for a President over a country to seek to cause division or destroy progress that has taken place under the leadership of another or at the peril of the people he or she serves to protect and uplift.

Our households should be a safe-haven, and not a combat zone.

Family Fighting-Contention

Contention does not breed well for healthy environments.  Therefore, we should avoid contentious people, avoid initiating contentious conversations, and steer clear of being a party to contentious groups of people.  We should also seek to show our children what healthy, nurturing and peaceful environments look and feel like, so that they do not learn to be a discomfort to others nor gravitate to dissentious or quarrelsome people because that is all they have known and/or learned.

There is a lot more to be said, but in the meantime, I'll leave you with this short statement . . .

The new normal should be P E A C E.

Time for Inspiration!

BLOG SESSION
October 3rd, 2017

"Time for Inspiration!"

Welcome back Blog Readers, Followers & Visitors ~
We are here for a short inspiring Blog Session to lift you up this week!

There has been a lot going on in the world, and there may have been a lot that has happened in your life in the past week.  If you have been under any kind of stress, you are invited to take a hold of the above Quote . . .

"Give your stress wings and let it fly away!"
~ Terri Guillemets

You don't really have the luxury of being stressed.  If you need to, write down what you are stressed about, then ball the paper up and throw it away.

For your journal/Diary this week, take a moment to really think about your Goals and your Purpose and write everything down in your Journal . . .

Journal & Diary Notes

Take a moment to think about your short term and long term goals and write your list of goals down in your Journal or Diary.

After you have done that, think about your Purpose in life, and write down what your purpose is in life.  How does your Purpose line up with your short term and long term Goals?

Let your list sit, and come back to it next week.  If you have anything to add to it, be sure to add to your list next week.

Be encouraged . . .

Until our next Blog Session ~ Keep your spirits lifted up!

Creative Journal Writing

Creative Journal Writing

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

Good Afternoon Blog Readers, Writers, Followers & Visitors ~  Welcome back to another great Blog Session that will stimulate your mind!

Our Subject matter for today is "Creative Journal Writing".  Many people underestimate the power of using their Journal to create unique literary works of genius.  Once you get started using your Journal in a creative way, you will never run out of taking advantage of the many avenues and the various possibilities for innovative Journal Writing.

I have a question for you:  What do you think "Creative Journal Writing" is?

You'll need to have your Journal to really participate in this Blog Session in a beneficial way.  If you are new to the Blog, then you will need to get a nice Journal to bring to these Blog Sessions so that you may take notes that will help you with your Writings, as well as other areas of life that we explore from time to time.  We discuss Writing Tips, Novel Genres, Writing Resources, and other pertinent issues such as Mental Health Month, Camp NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month,  and other areas of interest to our friends and Readers here.

Create your own Journal Cover

If you were here for our last Blog Session, then you were able to check out the link that was supplied for you to get to our connected Site on Google where Artists, Poets, Authors, Painters, Photographers, Architects, Designers, Musicians, Singers, Song Writers, Videographers, Film Makers, Short Story Writers, Novelists,  Playwrights, and other Artists of various gifted backgrounds come together to share their Artworks, comments, thoughts, and share their Friendship.  The link was supplied because Art has a way of inspiring the Writer, and sparking the literary genius in you.

Here is the link once again in case you missed checking it out in our last Blog Session:   Artistic Minds® Collection

If you are a Google+ User, you are welcome and invited to join us in our connected Artistic Minds® Community ~ where you will meet other creative Writers, Artists, and talented beautiful people like yourself.  You can join and share your Artworks, Poetry, Writings, Messages, Photography, and more!

One thing about being creative:  Just the simple act of creating energizes you, inspires you, and uplifts your spirit.

Creative Journal Writing is about doing unique and innovative things that are not typical of most Journal Writers.

Most Journal Writers who are writers of fiction, drama, or poetry, are aware that their Journal Writing builds their writing muscles and helps them to generate ideas.  The Journal can be used as a Laboratory of sorts for the Writer, Author, Novelist, Memoirist, Poet, and Creative Writer.

Song Writers, Film Makers, Playwrights, Designers, Architects, and other creative individuals can find good use for Journals by experimenting with different approaches.  You can use your Journal for the important details of your artistic creation ~ be it writing, design, or otherwise.

If you are in the habit of keeping Journals or Diaries, then you know the importance of these precious tools for the Creative Author as well as Artist.

Diary/Journal

Whenever you need a source of inspiration, you can always look back at one of your Journals from the past to inspire you to create new literary or artistic works.

Diaries help you to notate your thoughts, ideas, activities, and special happenings in your life.  Diaries also help you to smile, because when you go back to read what you have written years later ~ you'll laugh!

See you back here for more ~

Use ART as your source of Inspiration!

Use ART as your source of Inspiration!

BLOG SESSION
July 2017

Good Evening Blog Writers, Readers, Followers & Visitors ~
We are back here for a Session that will inspire you to write your Novels, Memoirs, Poetic Works, Documentaries, Short Stories, and/or Creative Writings.

One source of inspiration is Artwork.  If you are an Artist or a Designer, then you already know how inspiring it is to create an artwork or a design that flows forth out of your spirit.

For all of us who are Writers, there is the same sense of satisfaction when we have created a literary masterpiece, be it a Novel, a short story, a Memoir, a poetic work or a book of poetry, or any other type of Creative Writing.

Taking time to look at Artworks or even taking in the scenery in your day to day travels will help to uplift our spirit.

For those of you who are Google Users, you may like to check out the following link to view beautiful Artworks created by talented and "gifted" individuals (some of whom are Followers of this Blog).  The Artworks that you will find will inspire you! . . .

After looking at a beautiful Artwork, take a moment to simply write from your soul in your Journal . . .

Journal Writing

You'll be amazed at how looking at an Artwork will inspire you to write something amazing.  Be it words of wisdom, poetry, or a short story.  Artwork has the power to move your mind to a place of creativity!

Architectural Designs, Sculptures, Paintings, Watercolors, Drawings, and Acrylic works are all sources of inspiration.

If you know an Artist or a Designer, just watching them at work is a source of inspiration.

If you are a Memoirist or seek to be a Memoirist, (a Writer who writes an autobiography or a written account of one's memory of certain events or people), then you can use photographs and written materials as your source of inspiration.  A Memoir is a historical account or biography written from personal knowledge or special sources.

Poetry comes from the soul, and most Poets write without thinking about what they are going to write.  They simply write what comes out.

All of us know about Famous Poets who have inspired Emerging Poets ~ like Edgar Allan Poe . . .

Edgar Allan Poe
1809 - 1849

Edgar Allan Poe - Poet - Born in 1809, Edgar Allan Poe had a profound impact on American and international literature as an editor, poet, and critic.  Find out more about Edgar Allan Poe by clicking on his name here . . .

FAMOUS LAST WORDS and further background on Edgar Allan Poe . . .

Edgar Allan Poe:  Lord, help my poor soul.

No stranger to the mysterious and macabre, Edgar Allan Poe died amidst peculiar circumstances.  On October 3, 1849, Poe was found semiconscious in Baltimore wandering around in cheap, ill-fitting clothing—so ill-fitting and unusually contrasted against Poe’s usual mode of dress, in fact, that many believed Poe’s own clothes had been stolen.  Poe had left Richmond a week earlier, intending to arrive in Philadelphia; how he arrived in Baltimore was a mystery. Poe was taken to Washington College Hospital, where he spent days in varying states of delirium and unconsciousness until, on his fourth night at the hospital, he started calling loudly for a “Reynolds”—a figure who still remains a mystery.  On the morning of October 7, Poe uttered his last words, “Lord, help my poor soul” and died from what was determined to be “congestion of the brain.” However, no autopsy was performed, and Poe was buried two days later.

What is Inspiration?

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

Use your Journal Daily
Make a note of what inspires you!

Until our next Blog Session, be inspired by noticing the scenery around you, look at beautiful Artworks & Designs, and don't forget to listen to music that lifts your spirits.

Relax with Music

See you in our next Blog Session!

Peace, Love & Light,

René

Short Story Tip Time

Wake up everyone, it's time to WRITE, and learn about writing Short Stories.  Introducing Short Story Tip Time for the Writer in YOU!

Calling all Short Story Writers, Authors, Aspiring Authors, Novelists, Poets & those who desire to or love to write creatively!

We're here for Short Story Writing Tips...

If you've been tossing around the idea of writing a new Short Story or editing one that you have already written, then you'll find some helpful tips here during our Short Story Tip Time.

For many Writers, the Short Story is somewhat of a love affair.  You can write on any topic that you desire with your own creative flair.

There are many Writers who aspire to write Novels and become master Novelists.  I'm all for that, and it is a pleasant path if you are "gifted" with the pen of a Novelist.  And, even if you have never thought about writing a Novel, you should try your hand at it at some point in time.  Short Stories often lead the way to the path of Novel Writing.

Right now, we are going to turn to those who are interested in writing Short Stories.  It is a project that will be interesting, educational, and important, because you will learn a great deal about your writing style.

The first thing you'll need when you attend these Short Story Tip Time Sessions here on the Blog is a nice Journal for your notes.

There are all types of Short Stories.  You may seek to write any of the following types of Short Stories:

1.   Short Horror Story;
2.   Short Literary Story;
3.   Short Romance Story;
4.   Short Mystery Story;
5.   Short Humor Story;
6.   Short Educational Story;
7.   Short Self-Help Story;
8.   Short Travel Story;
9.   Short Drama Story; or
10.  Short Story about whatever you desire.

Remember to be creative, and never be afraid to try something new.

I always stress the importance of having a Journal close at hand, because ideas can hit you at any time.  Having a Journal just for keeping your Story ideas in one spot helps out when you seem to come to a wall once you set your mind to write.  The idea is to always be able to break through any writer's block by having an arsenal of creative ideas.

My suggestion to you is to pick up a decorative Journal for your writing ideas and notes, because that helps to inspire you to write.  The Journal you choose should make you feel good about wanting to write in it.

Creative Short Story Preparation Tip:  As a precursor to writing your Short Story, (to get you in a creative mood), if you cannot find a Journal that attracts your attention, take an extra step and make one of your own.  Decorate a plain Journal with the objects of your choosing.  And, if you are really creative, you'll decorate it with objects and images that you plan to have in your Short Story.

In your Journal, here are some of the items you need to have listed for your Short Story . . .

1)  Genre ~ Type of Short Story
2)  Title
3)  Plot
4)  Characters and descriptions
5)  Background History and information gathered that
is connected to your Short Story
6)  Research Points needed for insertion in your Short
      Story
7)  Life incidents that can be used for your Short Story
      idea

Short Story Basics

1.   Think about the point of what you are writing
       about.
2.   Will your story have a flashback?  A Flashback is
an incident that happened before your story gets
        started.
3.   Dialogue/Monologue ~ Conversation between the
       characters.
4.   Action ~ Write down your action points -- what
will be happening that is action packed?
5.   Who are the main characters in your story?
6.   Introduce all characters in your story:  Who are
they?  What is their background?  What do they
look like?  Where do they live?  Are they married,
single, do they have children?  How is their health?
What do they do for a living?
7.   Where does your story take place?  The setting?
The date and time?  The era?  The location?  The
       weather?
8.   What is the action that gets your story rolling?
9.   Think about your rising points (action).  What
events cause certain turning points?  What events
lead up to the climax of your story?
10. Climax ~ What will that be?
11.  Receding Action ~ or the wrap up of your story.
12.  Cliffhanger:  Do you intend to have a Cliffhanger
where you don't complete your story and you
don't tell the audience what happens in the end
and leave them to imagine the end.  This is useful
if you run out of time and don't have time to
finish the story, or if you plan to make your Short
         Story a Series.
13.  Resolution/Conclusion: a satisfying ending to the
story in which the central conflict is resolved—or
not!  You don't have to write your short story in
order.  If you have an idea for a great conclusion,
write it down.  Move backward or forward from
your starting idea (it may or may not be the
beginning of the story) and ask yourself questions.
“What happened before this?”  “What happens
        next?”
14.  Most of all have fun creating your Story in
your own Style and in your own way!

MORE SHORT STORY TIP TIME NEXT BLOG SESSION!

~ See you back here ~

Peace, Love & Light,

  René
