What does it mean to really let the Writer in you W R I T E? ~ Part 3 ~

What does it mean

~ Part 3 ~

BLOG SESSION
April 7th, 2018

Good Morning Writers ~ We're back for another wonderful Session so that you may learn how to really let the Writer in you WRITE.

If you are wondering about how in the world you can make this happen, you'll need to grab your trusty Journal and take some notes...

Journal Notes for the Writer in you!

First off, you'll need to jot down the topic that strikes your fancy.  Do you like writing about your life?  Do you enjoy writing about a particular subject matter that others may be interested in ~ like a hobby you enjoy?  Do you like writing about Science?  Do you enjoy writing about an area of interest that others have trouble with ~ like speaking before a crowd?  Do you have funny stories that you would like to write about that others would find entertaining?  Are you one of those individuals who have encountered paranormal activities that you'd like to tell others about in a way that only you can?  Do you have a romance novel rolling around in your head?

Writing about who YOU are.

Maybe you are just one of those Writers that can write a story about who you are at the core of your being that will be a fascinating read for others!

Just maybe, you could have a story buried inside of you that will only come forth if you simply sit down at your computer and start typing without thinking about what is pouring out.  This Session is all about getting out of your own way.  You'll have to stop blocking the Writer in you from showing up for duty.

If you are a Diary Writer or a Journal Writer and you take time daily to write down your thoughts, it may be helpful for you to pull out some of those old Diaries and/or Journals and check out what is in them!

 Go over your old Diary
and/or
Journal writings

Never be afraid to write.  Write with ink ~ write with pencil ~ write with marker ~ write and make illustrations, drawings, artworks, diagrams...inspire and motivate your "self".  Stimulate your soul by going for walks with your headset.  Listen to music that you enjoy as you take your walks.  Do what makes you happy, and after that ~ W R I T E.

Poets are blessed to have words that flow...

Poets ~ You have absolutely no reason whatsoever not to have a writing ready to pour out of you -- after all, Poets are naturally gifted.  Start putting together a compilation of your poems.

Whatever you do today, my advice to you is to take a moment to sit and get quiet with the Writer inside of you.  Ask the Writer in you what they would like to talk about.  Then get your tape recorder and start talking.  If you don't have a tape recorder, then get your notepad and start writing.  When you are done, relax ~ you've begun your journey whether you realize it or not.  Writing is simply a thought away.  All you have to do is let your fingers move around on the computer keys.  If you need music to inspire you, go at it dear Writer...

Simulate your mind with music
W R I T E R

See you in the next Session!

Camp NaNoWriMo ~ I started writing!

BLOG SESSION
April 4th, 2018

Good Afternoon Writers, Authors, Poets, Artists, Blog Readers, Followers, New Members to our Blog, and Visitors!

If you have just recently joined us this month to learn more about Camp NaNoWriMo ~ Welcome!  If you are a Writer, Author, emerging author, Poet, or interested in meeting other Writers and learning more about publishing your book, you are in the right place!

For those of you who are working on a writing project, or who have new book ideas that you'd like to get accomplished this year, the month of April is a good time to start working on what you'd like to see come to fruition.  Remember, Spring is the season when everything blooms and the air is fresh...and so is your mind!

"To be a good writer, an honest writer,
and a writer who actually writes,
it's important to reevaluate one's inhibitions."
~ Byran Hutchinson ~
From "Writer's Doubt" the book.

One thing about writing ~ You'll write your first Novel, and you'll wonder why you haven't written more.  You'll also find that writing is constantly on your mind.

Writing comes naturally to the destined Author!

Like those of you here who like to write poetry, you know how you sometimes grab a piece of paper to jot down the lines or thoughts that run through your mind during the day that make for a good poem?  It is the same for Writers, Authors and Novelists that love writing books.  It pays to also have a tape recorder or a smartphone that you can record your writing notes on.  Many a time you think you will not forget the thought that runs through your mind ~ and many a time you've been mistaken.  Be safe ~ write down your thoughts or record them for your next poem, book, play, song, film, documentary, speech, or any other literary work that you are working on.

Some of our friends here who have been following our Blog for a few years are already familiar with Camp NaNoWriMo ~ which is an offspring of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) ~ wherein Writers get together each year during the month of November and write a Novel or a Writing Project in 30 (thirty) days.  To learn more about the site where Writers get online to work on their Novels in 30 days, click on the NaNoWriMo link above.  If you have not yet participated during the month of November, now is a good time to sign up and review the Site for this year's November Writing frenzy online.

Review the Site and be ready when
November 2018 rolls around.

For those who have never written a Novel ~ a Novel constitutes about fifty-thousand (50,000) words or more.  If this seems like a lot to you, (if you have never written that many words before), it really isn't.  Once you do it the first time, it is a breeze to do so again, and again, and again!  You'll never know how it feels to write a Novel if you never try to write one of your own.

Books are exciting reads ~ especially when you are the Author.
Fear not Author!

For today, just make sure that you sign up to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo, and fill out all of the necessary items that we discussed yesterday...

1)  Complete your Profile;
2)  Create your writing project (book title or project title);
3)  Select your Cabin preference;
4)  Review all the areas of the Site; and
5)  Don't forget to check your campnonowrimo mailbox once
      you've signed up!

If you've already starting writing and are working on your Novel or Writing Project ~ Good for you!  Be sure to set a daily goal of how many words you'd like to accomplish.  Check in with your Cabin mates if you are in a Cabin with others.  Also check out the Camp NaNo Forums by clicking on this link.

We'll be back here tomorrow with more information for you, so be sure to check in.  You can also sign up to follow our Blog by email (if you have not done so already), by looking over in the far right-hand column under my eyeball to enter in your email address then click the "Submit" button, and you will receive each of our Blog Sessions as soon as they are published.

Get excited Authors ~ this is going to be a lot of FUN!
Don't be scared ~ you can do it!

More insight about CampNaNoWriMo!

More insight about CampNaNoWriMo!

BLOG SESSION
April 3rd, 2018

Welcome back Authors, Novelists, Journalists, Writers, Poets, emerging authors, Artists, Blog Readers, Followers, Friends & Visitors!

We are here this evening to get back to learning more about CampNaNoWriMo.  Please click on the link if you have not yet visited the Spring Writer's Camp and/or signed up to get started with writing your book or working on your Writing Project during the month of April 2018.

If you were here for our last Blog Session, then you have plenty of notes in your Journal about getting started with writing your book online (for free) in a wonderful Writer's Spring Camp that many of us are familiar with.  Camp NaNoWriMo is the off-spring of NaNoWriMo ~ which stands for "National Novel Writer's Month" -- which takes place every November.

Writers get together online to work on their Novels, Books, Short Stories, Poetry, and Writer's Projects during Camp in the Spring and Summer online.  You're encouraged to check it out if you have always wanted to write a book but may not have quite known how to get inspired to do so.  Just make a note in your Journal that there are plenty of other Writers and established Authors online working on their book projects during Camp NaNoWriMo in both the Spring (April) and Summer (July).  While there are many sites that you can check out if you are a Writer looking for a place to work on your Novel or Writing Project, we're focusing on Camp NaNoWriMo at this time.  We're particularly interested in focusing on Camp NaNoWriMo at this time because the month of April has just begun, and now we can all get started writing for the month of April together with other Writers.

You'll enjoy the Camp -- you can pick your Cabin once you have signed up to participate.  Cabins are Camp NaNoWriMo's version of a writing group.  Up to 20 writers can bunk together in a virtual cabin to create a personal writing community.  Doesn't that sound like fun!?

You can also choose to be part of a Cabin by being sorted into a public cabin, or by creating or being invited into a private cabin.

Learn more about Camp NaNoWriMo Cabins by clicking here...

NOTE:  To join a cabin, make sure you’ve:
1.  Created a Writing Project for the current session of Camp, and
2.  Filled out your Profile.
3.  Then, be sure to set your preferences on the Cabin Settings page...
If you want to be sorted into a cabin randomly, select the “Surprise me with random cabin mates!” option and click “Submit.”
If you want to be sorted into a cabin with writers that share similar interests, select “I’m looking for campers that match specific criteria.”
Then, you’ll be able to request cabin mates within your age group, writing in your genre, and/or with similar word-count goals.  Once you’ve selected all the preferences you’d like, click “Submit”.
Cabin assignments begin shortly before the start of the event, and will continue throughout the month of April on a rolling basis.
There is a lot more to go over in relation to Camp NaNo, so be sure to join us back here for our next Blog Session!
Start taking notes about your Novel

Be sure to leave your thoughts, insight, or any questions in our "Comments Section" at the end of any of our Blog posts.  If you are NEW to working online with your book writing, you may have some questions that you'd like to share here or online in Camp.  Once you sign up, remember you can . . .
  • Complete your writing project in a month
  • Track your progress
  • Get online support
  • The best thing is ~ It is Free to participants!
  • Also, it is 100% fun ~ and worth checking out (smiles)
