"What's going on in your World?!"

BLOG SESSION
September 5th, 2017

Greetings all Diary Writers ~ We are here today to talk about "What's going on in your World?!".  We are going to discuss two aspects of this question ~ Your inner world, and the outer world around you locally as well as globally.

If you would, please grab your Journal for today's notes which will serve to help you with your daily diary entries on this topic.

Journal Notes

As you think about writing in your Diary, take a minute to think about your inner world.  Think about what is going on inside of yourself.  Remember that emotions are often intertwined with mood, temperament, personality, disposition, and motivation.

Emotions derive from a natural instinctive state of mind from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.

First, you must consider your life circumstances at this moment.  Your life circumstances are based upon facts and conditions connected with or relevant to events and/or actions in your life.  Circumstances are events or facts that cause or help something to happen, typically something undesirable.

Write down in your journal any undesirable events that have happened in your life recently.  Focus both on the events that were caused by you directly, and those events caused by others in your life.  You may have undesirable events that have happened at the hand of relatives, your spouse, your children, your co-workers, your friends, your associates, or your neighbors.  Whatever the case may be, make a note of each of those undesirable events, and everything connected with them.  Be specific, because you will find that the process of doing so will be very therapeutic for you.

Next, think about your mood at this time.  Your mood is typically a temporary state of mind or a feeling that you may have.  We all know that people can be in a bad mood, or a good mood at any given point in time, and there is always underlying reasons for the specific mood that you will find a person in.  For this process of labeling your mood, think about how you are feeling and why you are feeling the way you are feeling.  The point is, you are to pin-point your mood, and then go deeper to ascertain why you are in the mood that you are in.  Once you begin to do this on a daily basis, you will find that you will become more in touch with your emotional state of mind.  Being in touch with your emotions and feelings is helpful to your mental well being.

The next thing you want to do is consider the relationships that you have with others in your life right now.  Name the people that you find are primarily in your life more frequently.  Of course, for many Diary Writers here, it will be your family, your significant other, or your spouse.  If work is the center of your life, it may be your co-workers.  If you have a lot of extracurricular activities going on in your life, it may be your friends that are primarily in your life.  If you are in school, college, or classes of any kind, it may be your classmates.

The reason why you want to identify those primary people in your life is that you have to understand that whatever is going on in the lives of those around you also spills over into your life, and could potentially cause you to have additional emotions, feelings, and moods that you would not otherwise have.

Our next item for your Journal is your temperament.  Your temperament is based upon your nature, especially as it permanently affects your behavior.  For example, the tendency to behave angrily or emotionally.  If you have a level temperament, you are able to handle various situations and/or circumstances with a level head versus over reacting or becoming anxious or emotionally out of sorts.  Your temperament involves your character, your makeup, and your personality.  You've heard it said, "She has such a pleasant personality", or "He has such an endearing personality."  Those comments mainly refer to pleasing personalities, and easy going people with level temperaments.

When we come back for our next Blog Session, we are going to discuss more about your inner world, which will include your personality, your disposition, and your motivation.
