The Diary for the POET

The Diary for the POET

BLOG SESSION
August 14th, 2017

Good Evening Blog Readers, Followers, Poets & Diary Writers ~ We are back for another fabulous Blog Session.

Tonight we are going to discuss "The Diary for the POET".  If you are a daily diary writer, a poet, or love poetry, you will love this Session.

Poetry is a vessel for any Writer who enjoys expressive imaginative language.  There is an emotional quality to poetic verses.  These reasons help any diary writer to be able to add emotion and feeling to their diary entries.

If you are a song writer, you fall into the Poet category for the purposes of this Blog Session.  Keep in mind that songs have a melodic rhythm.  Those who write poetry know well about melodic rhythm.  Most Song Writers are Poets.

Whatever it is that you may be writing about in your Diary, there is poetry that will fit the feelings that you may be expressing.  There are poetry books that will help you to associate your feelings with your daily diary writings.

The process of adding poetry to your diary will also help you to write with feeling if you are an Author.  If you have an idea for a Novel, your Diary is the perfect place to get started with writing story lines and character details.

For the Poet ~ your poetry no doubt just flows out without you thinking hard about it.  Your diary is the perfect lab for your poetry lines.

The Poet aka Diary Writer

Here's an idea:  What about getting your Diary out and just letting your feelings flow out.  Then take your next diary page to put together some poetic verses about your emotions.  See what you come up with.  You may be surprised at just how wonderful this will work for you.  If you are good at writing poetry, this will not be a problem at all.  If you have never written poetry, and would like to give it a try, your Diary is the perfect workshop for learning to write poetry.

Poet's Diary

There is something quite special about having a Diary dedicated to your poetic works.  Somehow the flavor of your poetry increases.  You'll feel better about what you come up with because it is like having a private space in which to work out your poetic lines.  You may want to use a pencil so that you can erase and write replacement verses if your poetry is not sounding the way you think it should.

What's even better about having a Diary in which to work with your poetry, you can add images to your diary pages.  Your images will add a flare to your poetic diary entries.

Poet's Diary

Whatever it is that you are feeling on any given day, just remember to get your personal Poetry Diary out and write about it.  You can also have a separate Diary specifically dedicated to your Poetry, and then another Diary for your personal daily entries.

If you need inspiration to write poetry, just get your Diary, light a candle, turn on your therapy water fountain, burn some incense, and if you like soft music to aid in creating the perfect atmosphere for writing, put your music on.  Then start writing.

Another inspirational spot for writing poetry is in nature.  You can grab your Diary, and take a walk to the park if it is close by . . .

Another great tool for Poets who like writing poetry in their Diary is a Poetry Anthology.  An anthology is defined as a book that has a large collection of writings in similar form, from a similar time, or about a similar subject matter, but by various authors.  A good example of an anthology is a collection of poetry called, "The Poets Laureate Anthology".

Reading a Poets Anthology will help you to get into the flow of writing your poetry.  Reading a variety of other poetic works will help you to see the diversity of the talent of various poets.  It will also help you to discover the various ways in which poetry can evoke feelings that you may have buried inside of you.  Bringing those feelings and emotions within yourself out to the forefront on paper will be very therapeutic for you.

The Poet's Toolbox

Your Diary is a pleasant place in which to work your pen.  Your Poetry Diary is special to your emotional diagnostic center.  There is no doubt that you will find your Poetry Diary to be worthwhile in so many ways.
